Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
(X server 2.7.1-1ubuntu1 in Karmic, seen through Jaunty, never on Intrepid
(kernel 2.6.30-6-generic #7-Ubuntu )
About 20% of the time when I return from hibernate the mouse cursor on the 2nd
head (external VGA) is corrupt, restarting X fixes it; rehibernating and
unhibernating sometime fixes it. The pointer on the laptop LCD is fine.
The pointer stays corrupt even as I move in and out of windows that change the
shape.
The corruption is of the form of a block of random mush covering a
constant width area (64 pixels?) and constant height (16 pixels??) with
the bottom of the mouse pointer still rendered correctly.
Hardware is Tosh Equium A100-306 laptop with i945GM:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS,
943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)
(I previously had this bug tacked onto one about general X server
crahsiness and thought it best to separate it).
It does sound similar to #67196 which is closed and was related to the
old i810 driver.
** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
