Michael, sorry for taking me so long to answer but I could test your instructios only today and they seem to be right. I removed everything from nvidia using the Synaptic, added the "http://ppa..."; string to the repository and reinstalled the drivers from there. Now I am playing a 3d game using Wine and playing a video at the same time for testing for almost half an hour and without a single problem. From now on I will check this site instead the manufacturer's one. Thank you very much for helping this newbie. Bye
