Sorry I previously missed a few details: * The Marvell ethernet controller is only detected if cable plugged on boot, as the original reporter mentioned. * The error I was referring to above happens even when booting with cable plugged with kernel 2.6.30-8. * This error does not occur booting karmic with previous jaunty kernel (2.6.28-11), as can be seen on the logs attached.
The sky2 messages are different on 2.6.28-11: sky2 driver version 1.22 sky2 0000:02:00.0: enabling device (0000 -> 0003) sky2 0000:02:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 17 sky2 0000:02:00.0: setting latency timer to 64 sky2 0000:02:00.0: Yukon-2 FE+ chip revision 0 sky2 0000:02:00.0: irq 2301 for MSI/MSI-X sky2 eth0: addr 00:24:81:4e:c6:e6 sky2 eth1: enabling interface sky2 eth1: Link is up at 100 Mbps, full duplex, flow control both Since this one seems a different bug, specific to karmic kernel, I'm opening a new bug report. ** Attachment added: "kern_2.6.28-11-generic.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/27596862/kern.log -- Marvell Technology Group ethernet card sometimes not detected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/338707 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
