It appears that the radeon suspend patch in edgy partially works. I used to get 2.5-3.5 Watt power drain during S3 sleep without the patch, and 0.5 Watt with the patch (and radeonfb enabled).
With the kernel in Edgy I get about 1-1.5 Watt power drain in S3 sleep. (Thinkpad T42, Radeon 7500). Sometimes this is enough for the laptop to die if left suspended overnight.
