Public bug reported:
I've been through every posting and bug report on this issue. I had
started with Ubuntu 8.04, upgraded to 8.11, then again to 9.04 and had
the same problem. NO sounds plays at all through the speakers, either
system sounds or sound files through Rhythmbox. I've unmuted all
channels in alsamixer. I've upgraded the alsa drivers to 1.0.19. I've
tried numerous options in the alsa-base.conf, notably model=toshiba,
model=basic, and model=3stack. Nothing seems to work. Argh!
