There seems to be two problems in your Xorg.0.log. First, it doesn't find any connected monitors (even though you have one one the HDMI connection) and then after it has already given up there is a crash. Let's focus on the HDMI connection for now.
First, I would like you to try the intel drivers from https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates/ . With these you may need to add the line AccelMethod "uxa" to the "Device" section of your xorg.conf. I see that you have tried the karmic package xserver-xorg-video- intel_2.7.99.1+git20090602.ec2fde7c-0ubuntu2_i386.deb. Mixing Jaunty and Karmic packages may have some unintended consequences, so I would rather recommend that you test out a full installation of Karmic, or use the xorg-edgers archive which has the very newst drivers compiled for Jaunty: https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa. Could you try some of the suggested options, report the result here and upload Xorg.0.log for that run. It would be nice if you could include the line Option "ModeDebug" "true" in the device section of you xorg.conf, since this will add additional information to Xorg.0.log. -- [G41] Jaunty: HDMI connected but no valid modes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/384660 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
