Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
I, and (hundreds of) thousands like me, need to be able to disable the
forward/backward mouse buttons. Other programs use those buttons, and
"It's not our problem, go configure your drivers," is the wrong answer.
I can do that, but I shouldn't have to. I shouldn't have to turn my
computer upside down and reconfigure half a dozen programs when only one
is misbehaving. I'm not even asking that you add it to the gui: I'm
perfectly happy with configuring firefox to refrain from hijacking my
mouse in about:config, if this is an option.
A quick google search will show that this is a real user interface
problem that annoys the crap out of just about everyone who owns a mouse
with more than two buttons and a scrollwheel. Can someone please provide
a real solution to this? Thanks in advance.
