It appears you have some other problems with your system as well, but in regards to the Package Manager error message, please take a look at Bug #272410 to see if this might be the same problem. I hesitate to mark this as a duplicate since you've indicated firefox-3.0 as the problem package, but I do agree with delance that it is likely not a firefox-3.0 error unless the message is presented *only* when you upgrade/start/use firefox.
