That's because we didn't enable apport by default yet. Karmic is still
too much in flux, and we are still importing a lot of new upstream code
which fixes a lot of crashes. I expect that we'll enable apport by
default around alpha-3.
If you want to enable it locally, you can do that in
/etc/default/apport.
