"/usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.freedesktop.Notifications.service on how it's started" Seems like: 1) Install notification-daemon. 2) Open /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.freedesktop.Notifications.service for editing. 3) Switch around the two exec paths at the end.
