I have the same notebook, Ahtec XFL90 (Compal IFL90), and the same problem... or I think that was a problem... I have discovered that if I use two fingers it scrolls!
Witch one finger the mouse move's around the screen, when I push with two fingers in the touchpad it scrolls.
