We already know that the brightnessup/down keys don't actually work on your laptop model, that's a separate bug in the kernel, and already reported.
What's important here is that keymap -i shows the right key symbol for every key. I. e. with the original udev-extras, are you saying that when you press brightness down/up, zoom, and suspend keys, it shows the _wrong_ key name in keymap -i? Do they show the correct key name after you did your udev rule modifications and added the new module-sony-fz file? Please note that this file will be applied to the "Sony Vaio Keys" module (input/event4). The actual reaction to a keypress is done by gnome-power-manager, for brightness. It receives the keys, and tells the kernel (via hal or devkit-power) to set a different brightness level. Due to the missing kernel support, this won't work. However, other keys such as volume up/down, suspend, or switch videomode should all work. -- Fn keys on vaio vgn-fz21e https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/384863 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
