It looks like X cannot properly detect this monitor. If you look at Xorg.0.log you will see nothing pertaining to detected modelines, etc. Whereas on my home desktop PC, it works great and shows all the modelines.
ddcprobe reports resolutions, however per Xorg.0.log X uses a nonexistent 1152x864 resolution. I think that this is the issue. bunny:root:~ ###ddcprobe vbe: VESA 3.0 detected. oem: Intel(r)Lakeport-G Graphics Chip Accelerated VGA BIOS vendor: Intel Corporation product: Intel(r)Lakeport-G Graphics Controller Hardware Version 0.0 memory: 7872kb mode: 1280x1024x256 mode: 1280x1024x64k mode: 1280x1024x16m mode: 1024x768x256 mode: 1024x768x64k mode: 1024x768x16m mode: 640x480x16m mode: 800x600x64k mode: 800x600x16m mode: 640x480x256 mode: 800x600x256 mode: 640x480x64k edid: edid: 1 1 id: 3b88 eisa: NEC3b88 serial: 01010101 manufacture: 44 1999 input: separate sync, composite sync, sync on green, analog signal. screensize: 30 23 gamma: 2.200000 dpms: RGB, active off, suspend, standby timing: 720x...@70 Hz (VGA 640x400, IBM) timing: 720x...@88 Hz (XGA2) timing: 640x...@60 Hz (VGA) timing: 640x...@67 Hz (Mac II, Apple) timing: 640x...@72 Hz (VESA) timing: 640x...@75 Hz (VESA) timing: 800x...@60 Hz (VESA) timing: 800x...@75 Hz (VESA) timing: 832x...@75 Hz (Mac II) timing: 1024x...@87 Hz Interlaced (8514A) timing: 1024x...@70 Hz (VESA) timing: 1024x...@75 Hz (VESA) timing: 1280x1...@75 (VESA) ctiming: 640x...@70 ctiming: 1024x...@72 ctiming: 1024x...@75 dtiming: 1024x...@92 monitorrange: 30-61, 50-77 monitorname: NEC LCD1500M monitorserial: 9X02323 -- Jaunty -- Intel 82945G/GZ -- Screen full of vertical lines, cannot logon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/385551 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
