That´s what i did, the problem is solved, Ubuntu needed an upgrade, once
it  was done the problem was solved.

Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor

I updated ubuntu version from 8.10 to 9.04, and the files in the desktop
don`t show, i opened the system monitor in order to see what process
were running and when i tried to close that window nothing happened ,
monitor system window did not close.
