I have my solution... the problem is that your backend cannot find the mysql server, my case was because I had an extra mysql.txt file which was incorrect, What I did to fix it was find that incorrect file [ sudo find / -name mysql.txt -print ] and check each file to make sure its correct then you can either repair the file or I just deleted it and made sure that the main one in /etc/mythtv held the correct data....
