The bug is even more serious. I am running a single user system under
Linux Mint 7 (essentially jaunty). My kde session is broken unless nm-
applet is running. That is, I just get a black, unclickable desktop
since kde now relies on the network for some info.

>From what I have read here, this is because nm-applet can't load if I
have already once logged into gnome and run network manager right? So,
what should I kill in order for nm-applet to load? ifconfig wlan0 didn't
help, what is the name of the process that is blocking me?
