Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu Karmic Koala Alpha 2 64-bit When pluggin in either a USB 16gig
Corsair Flash thumbdrive, or a 1TB Western Digital 3.5" External Hard
Disk, the Fat32 partitions are not mounted. The NTFS volume mounts fine
when the drive is plugged in.

I receive this error when trying to mount a fat32 volume via usb:

"org.freedesktop.DeviceKit.Disks.Error.Failed: Error mounting: mount exited
with exit code 1: helper failed with:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdc1,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
       dmesg | tail or so"
