This bug could be another input driver keyboard quirk (linux kernel), so
we should try to deal with these on a system-per-system basis, since
most of these problems seem to be associated with identifiable laptops.

If you are still experiencing these issues, I suggest you try to
generate a scankey log that shows what happens when you turn the volume
wheel up vs down.

This should give the maintainers a better idea of what they're up
against:

echo "showkey -s > mykeylog.txt" | sudo bash

I suggest you paste that log here.

Another good tool in getting more information on these input quirks is a
program called xev.
