I think I resolved this, and it may have been a space issue. (sorry, I'm a linux newbie)
I originally set up with separate partitions for /boot, /tmp, /home, /usr, and /var with 500MB left for / and everything else. I noticed that I only have 50MB left after the 9.04 upgrade. I deleted (what i hope were old) kernels from /lib/modules and redid the apt-get dist-update. Now everything says it's working, but when I initially log in, I get totally black screens with a mouse pointer. Ctrl-Alt-Backspace seems to fix this and give me my old X screen with dual heads, but I don't know what the initial blackness means. -masked -- Package install fail for linux-image-2.6.28-11-generic_2.6.28-11.42_amd64.deb https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/386527 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
