Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

When I boot, I have the "powernowd" service start and intelligently manage my
cpu speed.
But when GNOME starts, or whenever I start the Power Management capplet, my
[kondemand/0] process dies and CPU frequency becomes constantly at the maximum.

Yesterday I saw in Power Management an option to control de CPU speed.
It worked for constant values, min, max, but the 'intelligent/automatic'
mode didn't do anything at all.

Today this option is simply gone.

** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
