The file list is *not* generated by the package at build time, it's
generated by dpkg at package install time. If this file is truncated,
it's either a dpkg problem or a case of filesystem corruption; but it's
not a bug in hotkey-setup. It's also unlikely to be a bug in dpkg, or
there would be widespread reports of this problem.
hdragomir, I would advise you to simply open /var/lib/dpkg/info/hotkey-
setup.list with an editor (sudo gedit /var/lib/dpkg/info/hotkey-
setup.list), add a newline at the end, re-save the file, and continue
with the upgrade. If there are further problems after that, the extent
of the filesystem corruption will soon become clear.
