Mary, You don't mention what sort of laptop this is. Could you please provide the output of the following commands, as described on <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/HotkeyResearch>?
sudo dmidecode -s system-manufacturer sudo dmidecode -s system-product-name sudo dmidecode -s system-version Was this behavior still present in the final release of Ubuntu 9.04? A similar bug, bug #268422, was fixed prior to the 9.04 release, but that only applies to Asus laptops and was related to the power cord rather than a suspend event. If you are still seeing this problem in 9.04, could you please step through <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Hotkeys/Troubleshooting> and report what the results are at each step when pressing this hotkey? Chances are that this key is generating both an ACPI event and an input event, and we need to remove the handling for the ACPI event; but we will need more information to determine which ACPI event this is. ** Changed in: hotkey-setup (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: hotkey-setup (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- XF86Mail is identical to suspend keyboard shortcut https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/306490 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
