Public bug reported:
Ubuntu 9.04
pidgin 1:2.5.5-1ubuntu8.1
Pidgin does not remove partial file (msn protocol - other protocols
untested atm)
Pidgin saves the file with its actual name to the location that the user
specifies. Unlike other programs, pidgin does not use /tmp until the
file is complete. The name of the file on the desktop does not offer any
indication that it is partial. Removing a partial/canceled file does not
remove the partial file. User is not properly notified of status of
download.
Steps to reproduce:
Connect to msn
Get a buddy
Attachment sent from buddy
You accept attachment
Buddy cancels file mid way
Partial files are still kept instead of being automatically removed (clicking
remove does not delete the partial or propose to delete the partial)
** Affects: pidgin (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
