Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
I'm using open office 3.0.1 in ubuntu 9.04. I have two dictionaries
installed: "English UK" and "German (Germany)". English spell checking
is working fine. However, Open Office writer does not automatically
recognize German. So I try to manually switch the language using tools-
language-... No matter whether I use "for selection", "for paragraph" or
for "all text". All the words are marked as false, although they are
written correctly. So I start writing an english text into the document,
which is also initially marked as false. Then I choose English as
language. Only the German text remains marked as wrong.
At the moment there appears to be no way for spellchecking German texts
under Open Office.
The default settings for open Office I am using are the following:
options - language settings - languages -
user interface: English (UK)
Local setting: English (UK)
Default language for documents: English (UK)
