I agree with this. I'm quite familiar with Ubuntu and have installed it many
times on many machines. Nevertheless, the last time I was to install it on a
laptop in which with dual boot, I felt very unsecure about the partitioning
options.

I'm talking about this step:

/ubuntu904installation-small_007a.png

The problem is the following:

1 - I clearly wanted to "Install them side by side, chosin betwen them
on startup"

However, by looking at the options, it was not clear to me where to change the
partion size of the
new Ubuntu installation. That is because the partition size setter (below),
seems to be part
of the "Specify partitions manually (advanced)" option.

At that moment, I didn't know if by clicking "Next" I would be writting the 2.5
partiton to the
disk or chosing the size of the partition for Ubuntu. The bar indicating the
Ubuntu partition size
has any meaning if one choses other option than "install them side by side"?

Therefore, the bar showing the partition sizes should be below the first
option, not below all of
them. Furthermore, a more clear separator between the options should be
present, so that one can
clearly perceive what is going to be the result of chosing one of them.
