Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xmoto
Hi. I have a dual boot setup with Ubuntu 8.10 on one partition, Ubuntu 9.04 on another, and a shared /home on a third. Kinda wanted to check jaunty out before abandoning intrepid. One of the things that's bothering me (besides no fglrx driver yet/ever) is an older version of xmoto (0.4.2-3) in intrepid, while jaunty sports 0.5.0-1: -> http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=xmoto&searchon=names&suite=all§ion=all This is a problem because leveling data is written to the joint /home dir and then when I start xmoto in intrepid (after starting it beforehand in jaunty), the game crashes after a blink of the opengl framebuffer. A short message about needing a newer data package (xmoto- data) is emitted to the console if launched from there. I was quite able to install jaunty packages (xmoto, xmoto-data and libsdl-net1.2) on intrepid by hand via dpkg -i, after downloading them from the jaunty repository via packages.ubuntu.com. Tested it and it works perfectly. So it should not be difficult to update the packages. If you need more info or testing, please contact me; will be glad to do it. Thank you, and keep up the good work. ps. if you know the person responsible for domains, please have him register and enable ubuntu.org. This .com-only thing is quite bothersome in the open-source world, and I mistype a lot. thank you. ** Affects: xmoto (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- please upgrade to version 0.5 - it already works with dpkg install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/388127 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
