Public bug reported: Hi!!
I've been having this problem from a long time now. I'm using jaunty with gnome desktop manager. The problem is that when i delete anything from "/" partition, it does not show up in trash:///. I have a directory /opt which is owned by my userid. I can create and delete files fine in this directory. When i delete a file from nautilus in /opt it shows that it has done so, but when i double click trash icon, it shows trash as empty. I can verify that the files are moved to /.Trash/1000 (where 1000 is my userid). the /.Trash directory is chmod 1777. This is the only time trash does not show files. Deleting from mountable media, home directory etc. works fine. I've tried searching online and in this forum, but haven't come across any solution so far. Running gvfs-monitor-dir trash: or gvfs-monitor-dir / does not show anything while i'm deleting files from /opt. Running gvfs-ls trash:, gvfs-ls Trash:, gvfs-ls trash:/// also does not result in any output. Any help would be really appreciated. The only way to avoid this issue is to remove /.Trash directory which results in nautilus giving a warning that it can't move files to trash and will delete the file permanently. thanks System Info : ls_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 9.04 Release: 9.04 ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- nautilus trash can does not show files deleted from root partition https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/388516 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
