Public bug reported:
If the lpia architecture is to continue, it should be a first class
citizen like x86 or amd64. Currently we are very close, but things like
third party packages for e.g. opera can't be installed despite being in
the partner repo for both x86 and amd64. This is currently worked around
by keeping adobe's flash plugin as an installer, but that strikes me as
a hack (unless there is some other important reason for the transition
from flashplugin-nonfree to flashplugin-installer). I would suggest that
packages that aren't available for lpia but ARE available for x86 be
copied to the lpia repo as well, but with the arch set to lpia instead
of x86, and perhaps with a warning about suboptimal performance at
install time. But really these are warts of the fact that lpia is just a
sub architecture of x86, and there is no way (that I know of) to express
that in dpkg/apt/etc.
The reason I'm taking the time to complain about this is that right now
I can only download and install the deb from opera's site, which means
if there are any security vulnerabilites, I won't receive automagic
notification of them.
