Hello Philip, the update-manager starts checking the system whenever I start my computer. The message, that updates are available, appears on the screen. I always click the buttom for the installation, confirm with my password and then the system hangs. It does not show any progress in loading down anything for at least 10 minutes and that's when I force the download to stop. After that the download-manager-window stays grey and it is impossible to close it. The only change I did in the Ubuntu-System manually is the installation of RealPlayer 11. Is it possible that this programme disturbs the whole system and causes this serious dammage? If so I would appreciate a hint how I could get rid of this programme again. My problem is, that I am used to Windows in lots of variations but am a complete nerd in linux-things...
