Any idea if getting consistent SPDIF sound will *require* pulseaudio though? My main MythTV box is the one that uses SPDIF, and pulseaudio can occasionally result in audio sync issues with Myth. I rarely experienced it, but I removed pulseaudio anyway just because it's unnecessary for my usage.
