I have the same problem. I use Kubuntu Jaunty 9.04 - 64 bits (I also tried Kubuntu 8.10 but same problem).
#usplash: Setting mode 1152x864 failed #19+0 records in #19+0 records out #kinit: name_to_dev_t(/dev/disk/by-uuid/33258ade-dcf5-42b0-bdfe-2f6afc658e3c) = dev(8,37) #kinit: trying to resume from /dev/disk/by-uuid/33258ade-dcf5-42b0-bdfe-2f6afc658e3c #kinit: No resume image, doing normal boot... #usplash: Using mode 1024x768 And I still facing the prompt. This problem appears after I install nVidia Drivers, 173, 177, 180. It's maybe because I have nVidia Sli (2x GeForce 9600GT). I tried to modify xorg.conf but it doesn't work. $ cat /etc/usplash.conf # Usplash configuration file # These parameters will only apply after running update-initramfs. xres=1440 yres=900 -- Boot starts with: "setting mode nnn x nnn failed" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/67826 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
