Workaround found by adding hdg=noprobe.  I believe hdg might be the SATA
drive containing windows.  Without the hdg=noprobe, I cannot get any
information from this drive at all - gparted hangs while trying to list
devices, and fdisk -l /dev/hdg just blinks a cursor at me.  Perhaps this
is not a bug at all, or at least it is specific to my hardware.
