I have experienced this bug since a few years ago with Ubuntu, and
sadly, this bug had persisted in my current 9.04 xubuntu desktop.

Often, I need to transfer photos from camera to computer; if my new
photo files sum over a few hundred MB, copying all the files (raw, PEF
format) to the computer is a nightmare. My sandisk USB4 HDSC adapter +
4.0G SD card will be unmount/remount couple of times to complete the
coping (a moment ago, I tried to copy 3G files to computer, the remount
had happened more than 10 times :( )

Using an 80G usb2 external hard drive results in the same error, so are
other mass storage USB devices I have.

After a quick search, I have found many duplicates of this error, so,
fix this in the next release, please.

the lsusb output is:

Bus 001 Device 011: ID 0781:a7a8 SanDisk Corp.
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0984:0060 Apricorn
