David Stansby, If I understand correctly you have yelp installed and still the Help button in gnome-app-install doesn't show the help, while the problem for the original bug reporter was solved by installing yelp. So please open a new bug report since it does not appear to be the same issue. Please try the following and add the output to the new bug report if you still experience the problem: Are you using Ubuntu Karmic or Xubuntu Karmic? Open a terminal and run the following command: apt-cache policy yelp gnome-app-install Do you get any errors when running gnome-app-install from a terminal and then clicking the Help button?
