Update: I have been able to finally get a big desktop dual monitor set up using the proprietary fglrx driver but it was not very easy or clear cut how to do so.
I eventually had to disable randr in /etc/X11/xorg.conf with the following option added in the "Driver" section. Options "EnableRandR12" "false" Then I was able to use aticonfig to set a big desktop. Before doing that, there was no way to get dual monitors to work as a big desktop in KDE/Jaunty with any driver. With randr enabled all the options to set a big desktop with aticonfig or the Catalyst Control Center fail with messages about randr being incompatible with xinerama. I suspect that I would also be able to disable randr and use xinerama to acheive a big desktop with the Radeon driver but I have not tried that. -- KDE4.2 > system settings >no second screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362061 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
