As requested, output from debug. This debug file shows rhythmbox
crashing if the main GUI is closed before the 'codec' dialog. The
remaining thread is left running but that's a separate issue?

** Attachment added: "rhythmbox-debug.txt.tar.bz2"

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: rhythmbox

- There's an existing bug where Rhythmbox prompts the user for a codec for
- certain files. I suggest that the list of problematic files be saved to
- the users home directory and if found later on re-scanning (say, when RB
- starts), the file is ignored if the user last ignored the file. An
- optional 'clean known problematic files cache' could be added or even
- cleared when a manual 're-scan' occurs.
+ The codec search dialog pops-up during a 'refresh' of the watched
+ directories even if previously 'seen' by rhythmbox. It is possible to
+ crash rhythmbox if the main GUI is closed before the user dismisses the
+ codec prompt.
