Sounds like you have Tomboy in your panel and in your gnome session startup programs. In other words, you are trying to start it twice when you log in, which is not supported.
I'd recommend either removing Tomboy from your panel (keeping in it in GNOME session startup programs, and it will run in your notification area), or keeping it in the panel and removing it from the GNOME session startup programs.
