I tried Suspend again, when booting up it got stuck with a xscreenlock dialog
that after providing the password said "the system is locked by another process
(kdesktop_lock pid=XXX)" or something like that.  Can't remember how I got
around that one the last time. Ctrl+Alt+F4 did not help, there wasn't a 
functioning
console there, just random pixels.
