Thanks for the input. I believe it was a problem only seen under NXclient.
I've spent a lot of time trying to come up with an alternate for NXclient, but there seems to be nothing either in or out of repos that compares, in terms of a remote log-in. As a result I've been unable to try the tests you suggest.
