Yes,when you click a file, 99.999% of times (your number) it's because you want to select it But the second time you click a file, the chance is that the user (read: user coming from a windows or mac background, which would be a high number) WANTS to rename it. Why else would you want to click it the second time on purpose if it has NO function??? It's not about Windows way or GNOME way...
