The actual fix was included in Debian version 2.26.0-3 of gnome-keyring,
and that fix is now in karmic.  Changelog:

  * libpam-gnome-keyring.{postinst,prerm}: run pam-auth-update.
  * Depend on libpam-runtime (>= 1.0.1-6).
  * libpam-gnome-keyring.README.Debian: remove the documentation for the 
    passwd module.
