IF....because I don't know...apt-get works on your VM, you can update by doing the following two, separate commands sequentially in a terminal window (konsole)
sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade I've been doing this for a couple of weeks, but I'm working a real install to disk rather than a VM. BTW...adept is still broken despite several updates since the bug was originally reported.
