A couple of questions... 1. Could you verify that the driver ( iwl3945 ) is loaded with the new kernel?
% lsmod | grep iwl3945 2. It seems like there've been problems with this driver in the past, especially with regards to the killswitch code. You might want to check the initial description of the following bug and see if either of the two suggested workaround do the trick for you with the new kernel.
