I experienced the same problem as mentioned above. but after i red ricardisimo's comment, i was willing to give it a try by installing "camera.app" package from the synaptic. And the result was very good. Now, my Jaunty machine is able to detect nikon coolpix S51 . thanks a lot ricardisimo for your suggestion. I hope this problem can be fixed in the next Karmic Release.
