Sometimes I get this message after rebooting my machine. The current
work around that I have is to do (for some unknown reason) some moving
around of folders.

When this bug occurs go into your ".mozilla/firefox/" directory and look
at the profiles.ini file. This will tell you what the current folder
storing your profile is. Something like "dshj2r45.default/" will be
indicated. What you need to do is delete the "profiles.ini" file from
the ".mozilla/firefox/" directory and then you can start firefox as
usual.

To get your bookmarks etc. working again find out the new directory
"profiles.ini" points to and copy all of the contents from the previous
directory to the new one. Restarting firefox should then bring up the
browser exactly how it was when it was last working.

Not sure why this works, maybe someone can explain it, or fix it? It is
kinda annoying.
