Hi, I also have this problem with a ps2 keyboard on a desktop system.

The keyboard is sometimes (maybe 30-50% of the time) not recognised
during boot up.  It seems to help if I press enter during the init
scripts, this may just be my imagination though.

Attached is the output of  the following from a boot where the keyboard
didn't work:

dmesg > dmesg.log
lspci -vv > lspci-vv.log
lspci -vvn > lspci-vvn.log
cp /var/log/Xorg.0.log .

I have copied these commands from the above report and included the X
output in case this is relevant.  If anything else would be more useful
please let me know and I will collect it.
