I can't re-test this with my original hardware configuration. Since I first lodged this bug, I've upgraded my optical drive from a CDRW/DVDROM to a CDRW/DVDRW. The system is now running Jaunty 9.04 32 bit.
For what it's worth, I can confirm that the system correctly recognizes and operates the optical drive with both of the following kernels: Ubuntu 9.04, kernel 2.6.28-11-generic Ubuntu 9.04, kernel 2.6.28-13-generic Aside from the optical drive, the rest of the hardware specs are the same as when I originally wrote this up Dell Dimension E521 2 SATA hard drives 1 SATA Optical drive (CDRW / DVDRW) AMD 64 X 2 ubuntu i386 desktop version -- Intrepid Ibex does not recognize CDRW/DVDR drive https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/291341 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
