I'm experiencing this problem from time to time on my laptop. OS: 9.04 64-bit laptop: Acer Travelmate 5530G.
Both the keyboard and touchpad is unresponsive at the gdm and the only way to resolve this is to reboot the computer. If I plug in an external usb-mouse then it works correctly. -- keyboard and mouse frozen on GDM login screen.
