Could you please elaborate on what you mean by "facebook is slow"
Facebook uses a lot of javascript on its site and that might be one of the
reasons.
Have you noticed similar problems on other websites ?
If not , it is not a bug related to firefox, maybe a network
connectivity problem or a problem with facebook itself.
Also does your CPU usage spike when this happens.
You can check your CPU usage using the 'top' command in the gnome-
terminal
