** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: bittorrent

  Hi!

My downloaded files and completed files were showing perfectly in the
dialog box in Bittorrent version 6.1.2, until my computer showed a blue
  screen and crashed.

When the computer recover and I restarted bittorrent everything was all
right except the top dialog box was empty. I checked Options >
Preference > Directories and the directories that I set were still
there. I tried taking the ticks off the directories so Bittorrent could
not see them. Then restarted Bittorrent - still the same. Then I
replied the ticks to the Directories so Bittorrent can act on the
changes. But it made no differents.

Then I reinstalled Bittorrent over the top of the original, but it made
no differents. I download two torrent files from the interent to see if
Bittorrent would take and show the files. It did and showed the two
files. They completed their download and Bittorrent put then in the
same directory as I had previously chosen. However, they show up in the
completed Dialog Box, but no other files are shown, so uploader cannot
  seed from my other files.

I have a desktop computer with Duel Core. Running Vista, Ultimate.

I would be very pleased if you could advise me.

  Yours,

  Norman (MeerkatSqueak)

+
+ I found a solution. Because I used eMule which is slow, I am not really
clued up with Bittorrent. I was like most people just happy that it was
working properly.
+
+ The solution is a bit tedious, but what I did was make new torrents of
+ all the programs I had downloaded.
+
+ 1. Click on Create New Torrent
+
+ 2. Click on Add Directory, Then go to the Directory where the program
+ is stored and highlight it
+
+ 3. Make sure the tick is on Start Seeding, then click on Create and
+ save
+
+ 4. It will say do not use tracker - say yes
+
+ 5. It will say do you want the use the data in that folder say - yes
+
+ You will now see the program appear in the Completed dialog box in
+ Bitorrent.
+
+ I had to do that for each folder, I do not know if you can do them in
+ bulk.
+
+ I was glad I find the solution. I hope it helps others with the same
+ problem.
+
+ Yours, MeerkatSqueak
